just put a new wiring loom on my 04 Honda xr 125 I have led indicators with the turn signal bulb in place all the indicators flash together take the bulb out and they work as they should has anyone got any any ideas as I said its a new loom
You mean both sides flash like hazards? Try putting a resistor in there, you can get special relays for LED indicators, try one of them
as Michael Cain once said not a lot of people know that in clouding me thanks scubar biker will try that
At the moment you have one Instrument lamp with a terminal going to each side of the Indicators left and right. Dave i believe has removed this bulb and used two LED indicator lamps which are small enough to both fit inside the original lamp holder at the same time. One LED is powered from the Right indicator system the other from the Left indicator system. Both LEDs will have a spare lead which just needs going to Earth. LEDs are Polarity conscious so be sure to connect them the right way round. The issue AlanCF is mentioning is normally a problem with the flashing rate when replacing a conventional Lamp with LEDs
yeah hyper flashing happens when you go from standard bulb to led units ( indicators mostly ), when the led winkers flash at a higher rate than spec'd . to combat hyperflashing you have to add a resistor between the live and neg on the led light ( the pos and neg leads are connected to the unit and you spice the resistor to bridge those pos and neg wires) , this adds a restistance and the leds will flash in the usual speed rated by the flasher unit.
Yeah, like i said... I thought it was common knowledge that LEDs only go one way, its a diode, thats its job!
.not to me , as you can see from the post . until you pointed that out , any way all sorted now thanks everyone for sharing your l e d knowledge
