hi guys ive not been on here for a while as our lad sold his crap runner vx ,so that ones out of my hair but our other lad has a [ brilliant up to now ] piaggio carnaby,hes had it 6 months and no trouble whatsoever , but an hour ago i get the phonecall , "me peds cut out" so went to him about haf a mile away and had a quick look, nowt! just a click from starter solenoid now ive had all the panels off ,checked and cleaned every electrical connection,checked the fuses in the foot plate,even tried to jump it off the car, still nowt it just cut out on him doing around 60,no bang or any noises , no slowing like a seizure.just cut out and he rolled it to the side of the road he needs it for work so ive got to get it sorted asap can any body shed any light please thanks in avance nel
never mind , its the belt,all chewed up and wrapped around the clutch and variator hmmmm . dint make a noise hey ???

ha ha well it turns out that at the moment ,theres only 1 genuine belt in the country,so ive ordered it along with a new set of rollers and a new nut for the variator [for the sake of 3 quid] and should get it mon/tues, il stick a new plug in it too whilst the panels are off, so £58 + new plug and all should be good, now guess who,s got the job of taking him to work until its fixed?? as luck would have it,hes on afternoons from sunday so i wont have to wake him up 5,6,7 times from 5am then on next saturday ,were off to ilfracombe for a week ,fishing rod and metal detector at the ready!!! now youre probably thinking why im up at this time on here? well i was going "tecting" at 6am today but its still peeing it down here so im gonna get back in bed when ive had another coffee cheers guys
update; well i thought id run the carnaby briefly without the belt to see iF anything else is damaged, put the cover back on and nipped everything up and ;"CLICK CLICK ,i knew it wasnst a flat battery as its been on the optimate for 3 days,so removed the starter [ wires still attached] hit the button again CLICK CLICK,so a new one was needed,nobody locallly has a starter on the shelf and couldnt risk ordering one in case it didnt arrive before we go away on sat,so i called donotlink PEDSTOP in barnsley who had 18 aftermarket starters on the shelf,so i jumped in the van and went and collected one £37.50,nottingham to barnsley and back 2 and half hours 120 miles round trip ,50mph most of the way up the m1 through the roadworks,and £20 in diesel later,and .......... ITS NOW SORTED ; YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE apparently " it takes off dead quick now,its dead smooth,and its rapid" thats the good news the bad news is; our other lad who had the crap gilera runner vx,the one that dropped a valve in the end and was sold for spares? came home monday with a piaggio zip 50 nice looking thing,stage6 this stage6 that and stage6 the other,sounds like a bee [ a BIG bee ] in a biscuit tin hes ran it out of petrol twice already, this is what im up against , please help me!!!!
