Right, before i start pulling the bike to peices i wanna know what im looking for, to avoid wasting time. my bike doesent even make the slightest attempt to idle on its own?, even with the tickover screwed right the way in? it started happening when i put oil in with the petrol to make sure the 70 kit had enougb oil, and it was oil fouling for ages, that has cleared up now, but i still have this problem, :rtfm: it makes it hard to warm the bike up in the mornings, and its annoying at traffic lights as i have to keep blipping the throttle to keep it alive any ideas? oh it also has a hard time starting? like 30 seconds on the electric start agitating the throttle and 3-4 kicks on the kick start at full throttle
well i was going to start with cleaning the carb , jsut wanted to make sure it couldnt be anything else before i start... and yeah never had a problem with the choke, it all worked fine til it was oil fouling
but if it was the choke, wouldnt that mean it would idle fine when its warm?, it doesent idle fine, ever, i can go on a 50 mile drive and it wont even attempt to turn over once as soon as i come off the throttle
ok. the idle speed being turned right down ? take filter off and have a look where slide is should be a few mm from bottom with no throttle applied at all.
I had the same problem with my wife's RS125, and as you said it was the reeds! Also did it a little bit because the idle needle screw had worn a groove in the slide where it pushes, and was just sliding into the grove and not lifting the slide. Check both and go from there!
i had the same problem with my typhoon 172 if is a typhoon u need the black case that goes over the bore otherwise it will heat sized
