I am confused when it comes to the choice of the idle jet. I have done some searches on the internet and found out that people have different opinions. for example, over the mopedarmy they say: "If the low speed idle/jet mixture screw gets lower than 1 turn out you need a SMALLER idle jet and if it gets higher than 3 turns out you need a BIGGER idle jet"

And others say: If the low speed idle/jet mixture screw gets lower than 1 turn out you need a BIGGER idle jet and if it gets higher than 3 turns out you need a SMALLER idle jet"
What is true or false here?

depends on the carb as to what the mixture screw does, on some it mixes air, on others it mixes fuel, if that makes sense? so if the mixture screw is on the front of the carb (nearest airbox from the slide) screwing out will let more air in, if the screw is on the back (engine side of the slide) screwing out will let more fuel through....

Aha. My is nearest the airbox. And it's still run fine on idle with the screw in bottom, and the rpm don't increase when I turn it outward. Do I need a smaller or a bigger idle jet then? It's a 21 phbg with 48 idle jet
