well on the way home from college going fine a little sluggish but it had been sat out in the rain all day so thought nowt of it
got about half way home and it just died like bogged down like id truned the ignition off
pulled over tried starting it nothing
so checked all the obvious over like pipes and stuff all seemed fine
left it for a few mins tried kick starting and it fired up again with a load of smoke cant tell weather its white or blue
so set off again bout 10 metres down the road did the same thing so pulled over and set off pushing got it to my mums work nd waited for her to pick me up so started it again it ran fine but again really rich bellowing smoke out and im sure it was blue cunt tell cos it was dark smelt oily though
im having to leave it there over night so if it hasnt been nicked ill go and have a look tomorow night
any ideas what it could be if it isnt just the wet ?
    cheers
    Andy

1st thing i would do is check the fuel and vacuum pipes because if 1 came adrift then basically it would cause your bike to just cut out like you described ;)

Failing that when its light youll have to do the usual check for sparks etc :D
might be an idea to pick up a new plug on your way to the bike ;)

hmm, could still have water in there. Clean the filter, carb and just generally dry it. New/Dry plug. Then it should get you home!

*thinks to himself* how long before my bike dies?

lol just joking mate, check the obivious signs

check the spark plug cap, or replace it if its old check the airbox for water coming in etc...

well i got it home in a van
give it 2 kicks and it fired up and sounded sweet
    and i had blue smoke
only thing iv found is the carb abit loose
also bit off topic but what would happen if i got pulled with no engine or frame number ?
    would the check

erm no you cant just slap a reg plate on another bike...not if you want it to be legal like :msn1:

That would be like me slapping my reg plate on another Runner and saying...well its got a similar frame and engine as mine so it must be ok :confused:arc:

well i took the carb off to swap it with another and the floats fell out that probabaly doesnt help lol
so put another carb on and tried firing it up kicked it for abo0ut 20 mins wouldnt start so connected the big diesel battery up to liven up the leccy start
and it develeped abit of a noise i dunno weather its jus the starting mechanism but it dint sound healthy lol
still wunt start so im gunna try sprk plug tomorow if it still wont fire i think ill have to construct another engine over the weekend
    swining scooters grrrrrrrrrr
im only tring to fix it cos it took me an hour and a half to get home were the scoot takes me 20
and cost me more one way ont bus than it does to run a tuned scooter for 2 days

Surely 20 minutes of trying to kick your bike isn't good for your foot or the bike

have you checked for a spark...and fuel getting through...and compression??

As long as youve got the basic 3 things it should run!!!
