I sold the expensive condo, and moved into my 5th wheel. Anyone else gone casual? It sure is less expensive.
its something I really want to try well "van living" atleast anyway wanted to buy a small ford transit van and convert it to be a complete stealth camper but that's a good few years off happening yet! its not as easy to get away from the living in a property thing here the government don't like people doing anything like that its doable but not easy have to ask though why go with a 5th wheel and not something like a class c? the same sort of thing chris travels (youtube) has?
I got the 5th wheel when I was married. When I was un-married, I got the 5th wheel and... well you know. I will sell the 5th wheel when I move to another job and buy a Class B motor home. So far my contract looks good. I only pay $515/mo U.S. for the spot in the mountains. It is a 30 minute drive to work, so for now it works. My overhead in the condo was over $3000 U.S./mo. Also getting rid of all the junk was liberating. You don't need much to live in the desert mountains. My work clothes take up most of the space ;-) Walking out of a 5th wheel with a suit and tie gets the neighbors attention ;-)
I can't complain. It is larger than my first apartment ;-) Temporary at best, maybe 6 months or a year more. I am happy. Can't beat the view in this part of San Diego County. Remember I live in the desert. this is the view from my picture window.
If you live in a camper van thing then how do you get any post? This would also count as having no fixed address so wouldnt your work frown on this?
Not in the U.S. I live in a RV park and have a permanent address through a mail forwarding company. 300,000 Americans are full time RVers. It is a very common thing here. An entire support industry has developed to support Full Time RVers in the U.S. I don't move around much, as I still work.
