Just enjoyed reading your forum here.... Very imformative, and that you love your 50cc scoots.... Most forums in the USA, like Modern Vespa, are into the Vespa/Piaggio 150, P200, and 250's... What we have over here, is the Vespa/Piaggio line....New ones, are the Fly's and the 4 cycle Veapa's, since the new laws on polution controls have included under 50cc, in 2006.... Others are mostly Kymco, Chinese crap, and Stella... I have a typhoon 50, I bought off of Ebay, brand new, for $860 US Dollars...old stock, but cheap....What do they call them in Europe? We started a little scooter group, and we met at a scooter friendly coffee shop, but since the cold weather and snow, here in Michigan, everyone has theirs in storage, or are working on them....We also have a group of mopeds, mostly Puch's...which are friendly to scooters...Most Harley types, even are friendly, but some call us scooter trash... Most big cities have scooter group that ride and meet. Parts are very hard to find over here, mostly have to ship them...Dealers are few and far between, and mostly a sideline....with few parts.... Thanks to you, I am going to get the right 70cc kit, even ours are unrestricted, they only go 41mph...Keeping up with traffic, it is wise to get a little more speed...for safety...Can't find Polini over here, but Molossi are sold at 4 or 5 internet sites...Pipes are a big problem....but have a bike part dealer that handle Laser, to custom order a Pro X... The Police over here, do not bother us at all, too many other problems with cagers.... Cost for Insurance is cheap, $75 US, for a year, full coverage, and moped stickers, are $15 for 3 years, in Michigan....others States vary.... Scooters are more popular in Warmer States, but, we ride up here til the snow gets on the ground...some ride all year long....crazy guys! Thanks a lot, seems that most scooter people are friendies.... I guess I am going to order my 70cc kit from Scooter Central, best prices and am going in with another guy to get better pricing, and frieght.... You have it good for parts, most places over here, rip you off for scooter parts....Supply and demand, not to many places and not much they carry, even online..... Otherwise, we do have it good over here, lots of paved back roads, rides to Lake Michigan, parks, follow riders, and cheap beer!
