Hi all i'm matt from barnsley I'm looking for my 1st 125 scooter and what i want is: * something that wont lose power when i'm going up hills (17 stone) * 4 stroke (cant be arsed topping oil up every week) * plenty of protection from the elements * something comfortable for a 35 mile round trip to work (i've decided i'm going to buy new for the breakdown & warranty cover as i dont have a clue about fixing things) I've been looking at these 3 - Burgman, piaggio x7 & runner The gilera runner is my favourite on looks mainly (and the leg warmers are pretty good, but other than that i'm going into it blindly. So any recommendations and opinions would be appreciated. Cheers
ye mate best bet is the runner. vx 125 are reliable and quite fast. they have a small tuning capability aswell thats your best best look nice to
Minter! Any more recommendations please by the way when you say tuning potential what kind of bhp is the runner standard and what can i get it up to?? Thanks
welcome to the forum, think the runner is one of the most popular in barnsley. if you get a vx125 you can get upgrades for it but they arent cheap. have a look round ron daleys on doncaster road and see what you like however i wouldnt buy from there as there quite expensive and there plenty of bargains to be had if you shop around.
erm im not sure on the bhp figures to be honest. if i where you save youself some money and get a second hand one there just as good as new if you can find a decent one. theres loads about. you can get big bore kits and exhausts, cdi's and all that for the runner best out of them in my opinion.
Bought a 08 (04/08) gilera runner st125 (08 MODEL) in red with 300 miles on clock today!!! I'm picking it up next week as it has a scuffed panel that is getting replaced as part of deal. Got helmet, armoured jacket, service and chain all in with the price. How much does anyone reckon that lot is worth??? (then ill know if I've been shafted or not) :w00t:
