could you not go buy it then push it to the train station and just say you broke down if you do it on a week day in mid morning then most trains are fairly quite ive done it before went 24 miles with a MX bike i bought on ebay cost me £12 for a return ticket

tow it back with a rope around the handle bar stem and then attached to your grab rail etc

I towed my son on his speedfight the first night after his 16th. A new to us ped broke down 6 miles from home and just wouldnt restart (not a good start to his riding experience)...turns out it was the crank seals

Whilst being towed there were a group of peds surrounding us. A copper passed slowly and checked out the situation but simply carried on as it was being done reasonably slowly and safely...might have been a bit different if I'd have gassed it :D...first 170mph speedfight 50 :p

    I'd go for it mate!
Partialy dismantle it-slide frame/engine across f/board(make sure it's balanced),strap it down and load up the other
    bits in rucksacks.
Be a much more fun memory to live with than relying on other people to transport you and it saves you hoofing it,
you have a few mates with you/sounds like a fun run.

gumtree.co.uk you will get a man with a van for £35 / £45 who will travel a reasonable distance.

They want the work. Find a bike, make them an offer. :)

my sons throttle cable snapped miles away from nowhere.
He took his lace out his boot, tied it to the free end of the cable and rode it home :D
