Right.. got no alternator so battery deadoms really quick! How do i fit this thing!? is it under the fan or is it in the tranny case? need help where to find to fit it any help would be great
Stator/Alternator is on the right side of the engine (as sitting on the bike) , you will need to remove the exhaust or silencer at least,fan cover,fan itsels (4 screws) , you will then see the flyhweel, undo the nut in the middle , remove the flyhweel ( you need a special tool (a flywheel puller) to remove it) dont try and prise is off or wedge it out it wont work, when you have the flywheel of remove the wiring clamps and the bolts that hold the stator itself to the case . Re assemble in reverse order , use locktite and copper grease where neaded. Torque wrench also comes in handy when re fitting .
Sweet! Yeah got it all done yesterday. Cant find my nut runner so im going to have to make a tool to get of the flywheel! Shall be hopefully done by today! Thanks mate
