Hi everyone, i recently purchased a aerox 2012 sp55 and is on around 25k and still on factory build so i thought id be prepared for the a rebuild i am prepared to buy whatever tools need just need to know what to do when rebuilding i have a vague idea but not 100%. anyone know of any guides or videos that are good or can just tell me thank you!
a good selection of tools ie spanners sockets allen keys etc etc. plenty of time, a heat gun and a freezer ( heat gun to expand engine casing, freezer to freeze bearings to fit them ). if you have never split a motor before, you really want to see it done infront of you before you even think of trying yourself. its a time labour job and requires you to be able to fix problems on the fly ( you cannot split a motor then find the crank cases wont go together then come to a forum for help, its just not possible ) tool wise a flywheel puller , a decent torque wrench , a impact driver, numerous spanners and sockets, allenkeys , liquid gaskets, twostroke oil, plenty of rubber gloves, lots of clean rags an decent workbench and somewhere clean to strip scooter down and rebuild back up. and the bikes service manual its going to have all the torque settings for each bolt on the scooter and will also have a lot of other information you will require. Youtube search scooter engine rebuild to get an idea what you are letting yourself into, youtube search scooter crank bearing replacement to theres a few ways to get bearinsg into casings but most will use the hot and cold method, heating the engine crank cases with a heat gun and freezing the bearings, the bearings shrink and the casing expands allowing you to slip them in, then its waiting for them to reach room temp and settle. its not a simple job and it is not for the faint hearted / total newbies , you must have a half decent knowledge of two strokes and how they work
Search up "hassse aerox" on YouTube.. There you can find almost everything about the aerox engine. Great videos!
