Not familiar with all the scoots you all get to choose from, we can't get 99% of what you can. England and the area is the mecca for "performance scooter land" IMO...... those orental countries for popularity though. (Kymco is Tiawanese fwiw) I see this is a 50-80cc forum, my 50cc Kymco S9 air cooled is pretty quick, compared to the variety around here in the states, mostly chineese knock offs. There is about a 10% 2T to 4T ratio though because of emmission standards. From a start I can out run most cars when they accelerate normal, tops out at 45mph (50 indicated) in about 3 1/2 city blocks.... rpms are consistent and in the powerband, no flat spots or rpm drops. I think with a 70cc, 19mm carb, and tuned pipe (the new techingas rs II) it should turn upwards of 12k rpms and purportedly out run most vehicles to 60mph..... with the right tranny set up of course. Just curios what all these Aerox/Pugeot/Others are like over there, 2 stoke or 4, and how they perform. I see most are water cooled too, that is a plus. <--- jealous american
1st of all yes lots of 70's on here, dont know of any 80's but quite a few 125's, 172's and 180's i dont normally get too involved in how fast topics, because the speedos on mopeds are so inaccurate (including mine) that its been the topic of many a top speed flame out so now ive got the back ground information out the way, ive owned my ped Gilera Runner 50 since 2003, and since then ive steadily modified it year by year....click on here for spec!! http://www.scootershack.co.uk/capridavesride.html I say when asked by people its a genuine 60 mph ped, clocks show 120kmh top speed which would be about 74 ish mph, but its more like 60 in real terms
Are most 2-strokes? You can't get a 2-stroke bigger then 50cc here.... I can only imagine a 180 2 stroke unk: Most of all scoots are cheap 4 strokes from China land.
They dont make a new 2 stroke scooter bigger than 100cc over here The Peugeot speedfight 100cc, they still may make the yamaha Aerox 100cc as well... if ive forgotten any im sure someone will add to the list people with 125/172/180's usually ride Runners and SR125's which have been out of production here for a few years now, but after a race crank malossi bore etc their hot to trot again
