Just a quick question ,, how much would it cost on avergae to have a crank put it an aerox or does it depend on how stripped the bike is, what crank, how long it takes ? been ringing about my area and they all telling me nah we dont do that... so ideally some places not far out of hertfordshire that anyone knows of that does these kind of jobs, and setting up a 70 bore.. ?
Do it yourself? .. It is easier than most people think it is. It is quite a few hours work so I wouldnt be surprised if it is on the 200/300 bracket without the crank itself. But that s only a guess.
i know my local shop done that to one guy because hes piece of metal reed went into the engine everything costed him £600 including the parts . best would be to do it your self or get some more experienced tuner to do it
200+ is out of the question lol.... and 600 well. i dont need to say haha .....And id obviously buy the crank and take it to the 'place' When you say tuners, where do i find these people? there must be shops around that tune/fit these sort of parts and KNOW what theyre doing. I found a few guides on doing it yourself, but dont have the proper tools and still dont feel confident enough tbh
Shiny, PM and Minor (if he still even does engine work?) are the obvious ones theres probably more. 2 stroke tuners are few and far between unfortunately but id bet it would be cheaper to send your engine to someone who knows whats what with 2ts and have work done than it would to get get the parts fitted by a local dealer ect
Iv thought about shiney red but wheres about is that place ? and PM Tuning i guess you mean.... and MinOR off here ? That was the plan mate, but thought id try save as much as possible, money wise, and do the 70 myself.,, tbh the crank doesnt Look too hard, but like i said would rather let someone who knows what theyre doing fit it
Thats not bad really, but im only after crank fitting, ill buy the seals/bearings and crank first obv, but dont fancy spending 280s still... ow much would Shineyred charge for crank fitting, he must get asked a lot for crank fitting so he might have a fixed price or something?
Shiny Red is in gloucester and PM is up north i think http://www.shiny-red.net/engine-rebuilds/124-engine-build-price-guide Should cost about a score to parcelforce your engine
Legend Ramo!!,,,. definately gonna look into sending it there , not as expensive as i thought tbh,.. posting my engine tho, where would i take it to post? lol... sounds a bit dumb question but iv never heard of that sort of thing before Post office?
Post office or parcelforce will collect it from your house. Parcelforce 48hr was £23 last time i sent an engine if i remember rightly
thats well cheap to send an engine a few miles... works out about 150 ish judging by the pricing there...
