I had my 2013 Gilera Runner ST 125 stolen last month. The Police found it, the ignition, front panel & some wires have been ripped out & the reg plate is missing. I've done about 10,000 miles & it passed MOT & had a service just before it was stolen so apart from that it is in excellent working condition. My insurance didn't pay out & cancelled my policy due to me not locking my garage so I'm wanting to get rid of it & buy a new one. What sort of price should I be looking for?
Having recently had my 125 Typhoon stolen I know how you feel. As far as value is concerned check out what they are worth on ebay etc in good condition. A lot will depend also if it has been written off as a cat C or D but as you didn't get a payout I presume it hasn't been? If it has then the value will be lower as well as the damage. As said work out the GOOD value then take off app 50%. By the sound of it it shouldn't take much to get it back on the road so might be worth repairing. There are always panels on ebay but Piaggio panels are not usually that expensive even new. Locks don't cost much either. They only cancelled the insurance because you admitted the garage was not locked and,I presume, you told them on the proposal form that it would be kept in a locked garage overnight. Whatever you do, get some decent locks and a security chain/anchor in your garage. You may have to declare on any new insurance that you claimed for theft (even though they didn't pay out and you got it back)
