how i go about doing a typhoon 50 to a 172cc converion :D

i really want to put a 172 lump in my piaggio typhoon 50z frame my bike is currently a 70 but i want to go the extra mile :rofl: , is it possible to fit a typhoon 172 engine into the bike and what modifacations need doing to the frame and do i have to change the CDI unit and all the electrical componants. can any one tell what exactly needs doing.

well im no master but im sure you would need a 125 typhoon engine.... 125 typhoon loom mabe... and a malossi 172 kit... not sure about what mods you would have to do to the frame..

 

You need to file about 5mm off the engine mounts, you will need, 172 kit, typh 125 engine and loom.

 

or you could go one step further and use a runner 125 LC motor

 

ok cheers mate so all i ave to do is file the engine mounts on the frame you mean, do i need to change the back wheel do you no . cheers

 

no 125 typhoon wheel and 50 are the same... but get a 00 engine and then make it a rear disk converstion.... use a runner/nrg rim...

 

ye thas a good idea mate , when i file the engine mount down do i file the hole of the mount or do i just file the mount 5mm shorter , cheers sorry for all the questions.

 

i wouldnt file the mount on the frame, its small enough as it is, i took it off the engine casings

 

cheers minor confusion but its alrite ive done all the modifications and the conversion at the garage i work at , and the bike is flying , cheers tho.

 

like to c that happen, 2mm shaving off the engine each side or take it off the hollow mount? hmmmmm
