if i had a choice i wouldnt travel at all, but because down here its dead, the nearest place would be minor, which at a rough calculation is about 45-55 miles

what about say you had a general bike shop just round the corner but 30 miles away is a shop you know are a damn site better and more reasonably priced than your local shop. what would you do. (anyone feel free to answer, just trying to do a bit of research)

me personally would do the work myself obviously

i can answer for other people in my area and say that a lot of them wouldnt travel over 10 miles, its either my house or one of the shit local shops which dont know fanny adams.

but if i didnt know how do fit stuff and i needed work done i would be willing to travel any distance as long as it was economical to do so.

i know why you're askin as well, all i can say is as long as there was a cuppa and a place to stay the journey wouldnt matter, the work is what its all about.

depending on what needs to be done really.

but if it was something major and i know it needs to be done properly, i would take it to the further one.

id travel 30 miles + but i wouldnt pay some joey to fix me ped, maybe to tune it tho... :w00t:

if your hinting that your thinking about opening your own scooter repair shop?

do repairs/tuning/used peds, have a good stock of tuning parts, get a dyno, have a registered parts dealer thing or summat to try and get ordered genuine parts to people within 1-2 days, also have a website with well priced mail order tuning/standard parts

every scooter shop in the uk is flawed, either in price or customer service, so there is a gap in the market :nerd:

no one but me has touched a spanner on my scooters...

i do every thing my self...i would let a specialist flow/match some cases for me if they had a good rep or port a barrell...but spannering i do my self.

cant see the point in paying a shop £50 to fit a big bore kit when i could do it myself in a morning for free :pimp:

30 miles is nothing really as long as its not constantly on the A roads so the engine will be screaming its tits off, but then again wobbly you ask how far would you travel to get something fixed so the ped wont even work in some cases

I would travel say 50-60 miles to get something properly done like crank bearings or porting, not to get something fixed cos if the peds unrideable as I would have to rent a trailer or a van, and then it gets a bit of an arse about too much effort

fortunetly im lucky to have garages close by so i take it sometimes for granted I wouldnt go more than 60 or maybe 70 miles to get something fixed really

I rely on my ped alot for work and things so its cheaper to fix small issues myself unless I got way stressed out trying to do it like last night when i sorted about the cylinder head to carb pipe leaks :rtfm:
