hi, im pretty sure i have an electrical fault with my nrg... i have replaced cdi, ht lead, spark plug etc.... think its time i look at stator plate, magneto etc... i looked at the flywheel puller on ped parts and cant understand how it would work, i'm going to order one, socould someone let me know how its used before it arrives, this help would be much appreciated, thanks. http://www.pedparts.co.uk/product/616/piaggio-flywheel-puller
undo the centre nut in the flywheel and then screw the larger part of the puller into the flywheel recess and tighten it against the threads. Then wind the centre bolt of the puller in. This will contact with the bolt (end of the crank) in the centre of the flywheel that you've just taken the nut off. Give it some turns til its well tight and this should pull the flywheel from the crank end. Make sure you dont lose the wudruff key from the crank end.... when the flywheels removed it'll drop out as its just a press fit. When you reassemble, make sure the taper on the end of the crank is spotlessly clean as this helps the flywheel to bond with the crank and keeps the timing where it should be. If the flywheel doesnt come off at once, leave it overnight and then give it a bit more the following morning. I once took my 350LC engine to a local mechanic coz I didnt have a puller and he had it under tension for a day and a half before it let go
