Came across this prob aswell the zip above has the single side (its the SP)
But on the zip cats ect the bars are the same as push bike fitings, The bars are secured with the single nut onto a split collet so as you tighten the nut
it expands in the headstock locking it into place (not the best design)
One way ,the long way but the safest is to stip of the front end, remove the
fork stantion and slide in a strong thick walled tube about 12" long and 23mm in diam into the top of the stantion, then if you are useing say a TNT stem you will have to cut in the top part of the new tube a locating grove
to mate with the roll pin in the stem,Once you have done this ,clamp the new stem to the tube, lineing up the groove in the tube with the pin in the stem, the push both the stem and tube into the top of the fork assy till they are tight together ,you the will have to drill several holes of atleast 10to12mm right through both the stem and tube and make sure the stem
and the forks ar lined up ,you can do this by laying the fork assy on a flat
floor and place along 22mm bar .tube where your bars go ,you will then see if the bars are square to the bottom of the forks.
Once your happy then mark and drill the holes, and through the holes weld
both the iner and outer tubes together, clean of any big splatter or lumps
remove the stem and rebuild the front end,
Can i just add that if you are unsure of the wellder or use thin tube
or still unsure in any way DONT DO IT!
As for the headlight no easy way find one that fits behind the panle
    and fiberglass it in ;)

On a zip ages ago, think it was projectzip.com or something it had stacked headlights in the front panel, didn't look too bad.

Yep he did it in panel.
Not sure if it was aimed correctly but looking at the amount of work he put into modding the panel im sure it was.

My zip172 originally had to spot lights on the bars but not road legal tbh!
I got pulled by motorcycle traffic police and I had to tell him I only use the bike during daytime to get let off!

Runners with quad lights dont pass MOT so I doubt any other form of light on a zip would pass an MOT. You can whack something on but keep out of the polices way because they will kick your ass :(

Indeed, you could get them on there but would need to be with normal bars and Not renthals.

    Stalker also.

there are some new shape zips with lights in the indicator bits aswell.. not sure which ones but i know its not the 50s or 100s so must be the 4t 125s, ive deffo seent hem though.. ive deffo seen abot 5 of them ridin about though

as for the clamp i had to get mine modded to have a clamp going into the forks and it had to get widened because it didnt fit over the fork tube..

could be done with a bicycle clamp though as i bought a bit to go through the forks from halfords for my bike clamp.. that worked quite well, i used to wheelie everywhere and it never came off, my modded one still came off once but it was after the bike got stolen so was probably loose

The lights in the indys are sidelights. put proper lights in and theyll melt the panel or lenses!

really? where they full on headlights?

I did try it but it the the panel felt like it was about to melt!
I did initially think that was best place, and it would have been if the bulb wasnt so hot tbh..

lool i read what you wrote wrong, they probably are sidelights because they didnt look too bright, im sure you could get around the plastic melting though..
