i have a honda x8rs and in order to derestrict it you have to install a oversize variator, i have installed a polini speed control variator and a polini oversize kevlar belt to match and after about a a week or so of light use the top part of the belt was worn away, so i bought a new polini oversize kevlar belt same as the first 1 i bought and took it out for a spin to get it worn-in and it snapped on me. i have been using the standard variator and belt eversince only doing 40mph... not impressed :rtfm:

does anyone know what could be causin the belt to snap and shred?
    cheers Adam

could you explain how it could be touching the case, because ive looked in the casing to see if there is any thing that could disturb the belt and cannot find anything.
do you think that the tourque spring could be to do with any thing, maybey too strong therefore crushing the belt?

nope, i think your belt is getting to the top of the variator and touching the transmission case (either at the top or bottom).

look for clean metal in the case, this would indicate the belt rubbing.

I'm also into derestricting an X8RS but I don't know which oversize belt and oversize variator to use.
Someone here who can help me with what parts I need to get ?
