Honda Sky SGX50 Stator/Alternator

    Just wondered if anyone on here knows, how many coils, or "poles" these little 50 cc engines have on the stator/alternator ? I am waiting for a flywheel puller, so that I can get to the stator, but to know in advance would be good.....Del.

    Depends if it's already been changed somewhere along the lines, some have 4 poles some 6 and some 8.

    O.k thanks for that, I guess different one's kick out different voltages....will see when flywheel puller arrives…..

    Mmmhhh…...I got a feeling that something is not "quite right"......here's the scenario....fire the scooter up, with old, almost dead battery on, lights work, but brake light and indicators don't.....fire the scooter up with nearly new battery on, and everything works just fine......is this normal ?

    Blinkers and brake are powered by the battery, headlight is straight from the stator
