The re-build is coming along nicely now, one thing I have noticed, is she won't start from cold.....today only way to get her going was to remove air filter, and stuff a bit of rag into carb. air intake, and she fired straight up, apart from the electric choke, which I ain't tested yet, is there anything else that could cause this ?

That's odd. Have you tried replacing the spark plug?

See my post in guides section. About starting problems on Peugeot and yamaha.
It's the choke jet in the float bowl.
90% of the time it's that
