Is it rounded off, or just tight?

I not sure the size as used a size 14mm socket which was shearing the nut and 15mm is too big I think from what i read it's a cap fitting not a nut

Use a 6 sided socket, not one of those 12 pointed things, they will round off nuts/bolts very easily especially if they are already damaged.

If it's rounded, you could always try to flat it with a file to recreate the symetry & retry with a different socket - is the engine cold when you try to remove it......does'nt have to be operational to 'warm' that area up,to mine for a spin before oil change and screen clean.;).
