Hello All, I'm looking for some help and this is my first post on here so hopefully I'm doing this right. I have a 2005 Honda Dylan which I have been rebuilding in my spare time from a pile of parts, the one thing that needs doing before I can take it to have an MOT check is to fit the back light cluster. Before I can do this I need to repair the tabs where is screws into the fairings. The bit I'm struggling on is what order the side panels, rear light cluster etc are fitted. As far as I can see if you fit the side panels first then you cant get in to do the screws up. If you however fit the light to the side panels first and then fit them together, then you risk snapping the tabs as you have to manipulate the side panels around the frame and tank etc... Any advice would be really helpful
As a rule the rear light unit is fitted to the frame and panels are fitted on afterwards, the light won't be fixed purely on the panels !
On this one it is only fitted to the fairings its strange I agree because it makes it damn near impossible to replace the rear cluster unless you remove seat, rear luggage rack etc. As far as I can tell (unless i need to fit the fuel tank afterwards which I cant see is feasible) the only way will be to fit the panels and light cluster as one, or glue the damn thing in... Would help if I could figure how to add images... ill include the links https://photos.app.goo.gl/DoG43FSiFSHkhAcW6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/qStB5Uc2rgeT4bti7
Quite a few scooters are like that. Fit the light into the fairing, then carefully flex the panels over the frame rails. Scary at first but I find sort of sliding them over from the back or from about halfway along works. 600 bandits are the same
Yes thats what I figured, I got it sorted now. Just need to get it MOT'd now this week. Get my bike journey started.
