Tried my 'sold as seen' aerox 100 on the road today, a wee bit dissapointed, 250 yards down the road and just about up to 25mph, now that is long gearing hock: Had a bit of an engine investigation, Malossi barrel, head looks stock, unsure about the carb, stock airbox, removed the belt cover, malossi belt, unsure on weights, not dug that deep yet, my greatest find is the vaned wheel; where have all the vanes gone..a few intact, a few stumps, do not seem to be catching the case, surely it would leave marks............ I had been imformed that the work was done by a Top Tuner, their name is on the bike..... :good:
honestly mate dont f**ing bother there the biggest waste of spaces out there put 700 in myne and alls a got was 10mph out of it and it looked a little prittyer a wouldent even bother seriously waste of time its like polishing a turd mate
Aye they are shit! I didn't believe anyone as first so put put a 120 on mine with 22mm carb and aftermarket exhaust...spent load like the dude above. Honestly, the BW50 i got last week for 50quid would blow it into the weeds on accleration...and its only got a 70cc barrel with nothing else! A standard Aerox 100 should still crack 55mm/60mph in that distance though so something not right... You can't get aftermarket heads for the malossi barrel...you need to modify the standard one. Perhaps that hasn't been done right and its down on compression? Maybe pistons rings are dead cos it hasn't be jetted right as well. Problem is the malossi repalcements (rings/piston/gaskets) are expensive...best advice would be to buy a standard cylinder and piston for £80ish and put it back to standard. Jet it as per the manual (i can give you settings for this if you're still on the standard TK 16mm carb) and ride it until you can get a 50 or decent maxi scooter... Sorry!
Thrown it in the shed, went and bought a 750 today.......does more than 25mph in 250 yards.. :yahoo: Still in the shed but also on Gumtree, may as well cut and run....
