Did I say 130?? lol It is over 100 though and it is actually running lean! Im going to set the needle clip to the bottom and se if that sorts it. As far as timings go i havent got a scooby ,I have just opened up the exhaust port and polished it ,knife edged the transfers and hoped for the best ! It is running weak exactly where the powerband kicks in I think maybe I will have to bite the bullet and fit some fibre reeds . Anyone know a cheap place for these?? My next step was going to be hacking out the little manifold as it is very restrictive. Ps I had to cut a fair amount off it at the base to allow the 70cc barrel to fit . Cheers

the std reeds are pretty good actually, they are fibre glass or some crap like that. Mine didnt like harder reeds, it was more crispy with the original ones :good: what 70 kit have you got on? polini, malossi..etc or cheappy ebay cast iron one? Im boring mine out on a milling machine I have at college but Im affraid I will cut trou the cylinder walls so Im looking for help  My mainfold was just ported up a lil' to match the bigger carb and runs sweet. at the moment its all in bits. take sme 30 mins to walk to my gf's, precious time wasted! :mod: haha

Ok thats saved me a few quid on reeds ! Its a cheap 70 kit from flea bay but apart from the issue of cutting the inlet manifold about it is very good. It even says its a 49cm3 on the outside of the barrel .
Are you boring out the stock 50cc Barrel ?? If so the only way you will find out is by going for it but at a guess I would say you will run out of bore.
Which carb have you uprated too? I found out what the problem was with mine ......I had the lil white bit inside the slide in the wrong order ...DOH! Runs sweet now .
Im not sure if I am alowed to say this on here but I sell karting pistons and do rebores and hones so if any of ya nip one up badly or have a full seize I can fix em up cheap.
Ansd I suppose this sorta chat should be done on the tuning bit ! Sorry admin :D

haha cool, I guess thats what I will have to do, just bore it out and hope it doesn't go trou the walls haha did your std barrel and the 'flea bay' kit looked the same from the outside? like..did it have the same amount of metal or was it the same? Im scared haha
My carb came out of a Suzuki ts50 motocross bike (them really old ones, its a mikuni carb, 20 something mm's)
what tools do you use to rebore bores? have you got a picture? I need to make one :p the ones they have in college are not big enough.
    'sorry admin'! haha

I have a hohning machine a purpose built machine for rebores . It is a four jaw type which is way better than the 3 jaw junk most bike shops use. To answer your question I would say yea the 70 kit is bigger cos I had to take the side off the inlet manifold for it to drop in to place . Save your pennies for the 70 kit and save your 50 barrel for the insurance inspector!
