Hi, im new here, but looking around the forum it seems like theres people here who really no there stuff. im 16 from portsmouth and iv got a Yamaha Aerox 50cc i bought it for £500 its an 05 plate. I have also bought a full set of new panels for it (£130), de resricted it and added a gianelli sports pipe. The colour is now white, with black fairing and vents and looks the buissness - however I was just wondering if anyone had any tips to make it perform better for example would a new belt or rollers or clutch be worth buying and how would it affect performance thanks very much Pictures up soon !
no mate all these insy little bits will affect the way your bike runs, the only way your gonna see real gains is with either a 70cc kit, a bigger carb, and/or a better exhaust. so first things first, get yourslf a 70 kit
as always, people on budgets REALLY shouldent tune scoot's... its a complete backwards concept. your spending money making a bike faster.. this comes at a cost, you can ether afford it or you cant. a rolling bodge job is exactly that, better off wiht a stocker if your gonna be half assed about things. will only blow up with half ass mod's. pipes on stock 50's are just p[ure rapage of the piston and crank... it has ZERO power... the stock pipes really are shit on 70 kits on the most part (didnt used to be the case with the piggy pipes but fuck me there getting strict about it) hence, you really wanna buy a 70 kit and pipe together... if you cant afford to do this forget tunning. its not a case of buy once ether. they do blow up.. im lucky to get 3000 miles out of a cylinder and thats mild race spec on the road... stocker will do a happy 20,000 miles. in 8 months ive done 5 cylinders, a few sets of bearings, plenty pipes, god knows how many sets of rollers..few diff carbs (have 4 diff carbs for my bike depending on the engine i sling together when it blows) list go's on, still need another piston/head crank and gearup for one engine and an iron kit for another
