i had one for these around 4 years ago then moved on to 600cc bike but i know want another to get to and from work. ive been looking for weeks now and seen some ruff scooters tbh. i found a nice clean 99 sr 125 with 11k on it but i think ive seen people writing the older model sr125 used a differant engine the the newer models. is there anything to worry about with the older model engines etc as i loved my 03 model i had before thanx
the older 50cc version use a different engine to the newer 50cc the 125 you are on about will be the same
an old post from someone last year!!! ( 99 sr's used minareli engines with mounts at top as far as i know , 03 onwards use piaggio lumps)...
yes the 50cc version 1994 to around 2000 use the minarelli then i think up to 2003 use morini and then after than piaggio engine the 125cc version strictly piaggio engine EDIT found this http://beedspeed.com/html-pages/WhatEngine.htm PIAGGIO 125 / 180cc TWO STROKE ENGINE APRILIA SR 125 GILERA RUNNER FX 125 - RUNNER FXR 180 ITALJET DRAGSTER 125 - DRAGSTER 180 PIAGGIO HEXAGON 125 - 10 INCH WHEELS - HEXAGON LX 125 - HEXAGON LX 180 PIAGGIO SKIPPER 125 - 10 INCH WHEELS - SKIPPER LX 125 - TYPHOON 125
thats just the engine cover they all use piaggio engines some of them are drum and some are disk tho thats the only difference
Always check the engine mounts, they always were crap at the best of times, pricey if they need replacing.
