yeh 2 miles would be ok mte a 50cc is plenty for that but wouldnt get you past 40mph t the most some even got less than 30, nrg's are supposed to be quite good but i would go for a good condition 2 stroke 5 s i have had a 4 stroke 50 and it was awful at starting and was soo slow

I think its a 50cc as that's what my dad used to have on car license but you could always get a 50cc and put a 70cc kit on it and not tell but its a chance you would have to take as 50cc's aren't supposed to go over 30mph iirc but most do and a 70cc kit makes no visual changes to the bike tbh

You have a full car licence which means you can ride a 50cc without L plates.

However, if you do your one day cbt you can ride a 125 with L plates for 2 years.

The cbt isn't expensive and a 125 motorbike would be a lot better for the kind of distances you do. Also if you've had mx bikes previously you'll be used to riding them.

For 350 i reckon you could get a decent KMX/DT down your way.

Something like that will blow away a scooter speed wise and give you a lot more road presence.

Personally i'd go for a piaggio nrg, Put a leo vince tt exhaust, polini reed valve, polini double air filter, remove the ristrictor in varitor washer, Air intake brass filter out then you will have a NRG that will go 60mph and does 70mpg!

    Hi buddy,

I've been in a similar situation. 80 miles (is that round trip or each way?) is a long way on a 50cc.

I agree with the above, CBT then next day off you go on a 125 which will cope with that sort of milage.

I had a SYM Joyride 125, ate up the miles in comfort, cheap to buy, 80mpg too. Got a Piaggio X8 250 now, big bike, lots of storage, the 125 version would be a good contender.

Check out the 'Maxi Muppets' forum for big scoot info.

50cc's can go 60mph if you are old enough. I ran a 70cc had a crash bike was wrote off insurance thought nothing of it. Personally i'd go for 50cc Piaggio Nrg, Fit a malossi sport on it, It'll sit a 50 easy. To be honest I'd just do your cbt and buy a 125.
