Just got back from the bike shop as my speedy was having a new tyre fitted today, so I went in and the pulled me aside, well I shat a brick when they said I was lucky that I didn't get hurt with my ped the rear shock unit is not damping and the front suspension has a lot of play with it
Both of the guys speaking to me said I should get rid ASAP and i shouldn't bother getting it repaired as it will cost a lot to repair and the bike wasn't worth it at all need help and advice

I'd get a second hand shock and front suspension arm from eBay. It will only cost a lot if you can't replace the parts yourself and have to get the Peugeot Stealer (sorry, Dealer) to do it for you.

Seems a bit ott for a simple repair. We're they trying to buy it off you by any chance?

Most mopeds dont really have dampers per se, it works on friction. Maybe the whole front bushes all need changing, but I bet ive seen worse

Bullshit. I work for a dealership, we like people to fix old bikes as its a better income, because they tend to need more maintenance more often than newer bikes, also if the "damper" on the rear is gone, it will be bouncy, if the damper is fine, it should be more stiffer. Although through experience they feel the same all the time, new or old
