I changed my head on my scooter last week just a standard replacement and now I have a list of problems

    Scooter takes ages to start

Doesn't tick over at all (cuts out literally straight away)

    It's really slow at accelerateing

And the top speed is probably 20 mph (feels like its holding back

Really don't know what to do any ideas

cylinder haed bolts should be clamped down to the correct torque setting...

    to loose.. easy to guess
to tight, might strech or break a stud.

could be not tight enough, but i wouldnt guarantee that..

no idea what yours should be, but neeed to be done on opposites.. 1, 3, 2, then 4

did you move the barrel around, might be a leak in the bottom gasket.

surley must be something you have moved..

did the head have 4 rubber 0'rings in the top of it? "on the inside" were the bolts would go through to tighten it down? if you missed one of them you will be letting water into your bore. = fail lol

it sholdnt start if there is water in the bore. just like if its flooded with Petrol it wont start!

but.. my old friend had a aprila rs 50, and he did the head on it, and missed out the 0'rings, and it ran. but pissed water out the exhaust! haha dont have a clue how it was running...
