    Hi all,

I’ve started to tune my aerox by buying the Stage6 SportPro big bore kit, but I’ve run into a problem and I’m not quite sure what to do.

I’ve removed the thermostat from the old head but it won’t fit into my new as it’s too long and the new head blocks off the hole about 5mm into it.

Does anyone know what I should do as I don’t want to leave a hole in the head.

Any replies will be much appreciated!

Can you get a metal plug made with an outside thread and screw that into the hole. The hole will have to be machined circular and have a thread cut. Then you would drill and tap the plug and fit a stud. This means removing the head but it would be a permanent repair.

Our head came with such a narrow opening we couldn’t find any thing to fit it so we didn't, runs fine with out it

    ...Stage6 mid race...

Yeah, you don't really Need a thermostat. Not really.
As long as you let it warm up and don't let it overheat

    Thank you for the reply’s.

I’ve fitted the head and coolant seems to be coming out of the hole.

Does anyone know if I’ve gone wrong when fitting it or should this be normal?

I very much doubt that's normal. Do you use sealant?

That's where the temp sensor goes. Is there one in there?

Take the old temp sender out of your old head, it’ll fit in the stage6 one

My old one won’t fit. The Stage6 head blocks the hole off about 5mm into it and my old one had at least 10mm of Pipe.

    Do I buy a Stage6 temp sensor?

And should it leak coolant if the hole isn’t blocked or is there a problem?

It’s not blocked off it just looks as if it is.
So yes coolant should be flowing to it and coming out if its not got a sender in it

Get a stage6 one, only cheap. Aerox one is way too long
