right... well last night i was riding home at about 50mph when my bike started playing up... well basically, it kept "dying" like the engine was being switched off :???: and would just bog down, then it went back to normal.... and kept reeating this on my way home then it just conked out about 10 minutes from my house and wouldnt start, ( and sounded like it werent sparking) so today i got a new plug... fitted it, and it started up first time!!, but havent rode i yet because i dont like the look of my old spark plug!! hock: there seem to be metal balls around the electrode fingy in the middle of the spark plug!! (btw they are both the same spark plugs, code: BR9ES which i have had in it since iv had the bike! any help would be much appreciated cheers
Looks like bits of bearing to me but not 100%, when you put this plug in did you look at the bottom while checking the elec gap ? with feeler guage ?
im proberly complety wrong and going to make a fool out of my self, but could the piston head be melting then going into the plug and setting into metal balls?
It does look like melted metal. I thought that, but couldnt work out whare the metal was coming from.
yes, i have been told on other forums that the metal balls are fom the crown of my piston :msn1: how they melt into balls all the same size is well weird though :wtf:
maybe they melt and go in there and when they spin around a bit and when they get hot they form a round shape. dunno lol :w00t: kcnw9
as i don't like SWF i'll post it on here. can't be the main bearings, there way to small! it also can't be the big or little end bearings as there needle roller bearings i'm with the melted metal theory, which would explain the bogging. you might have got a little bit of metal in the gap where the balls have formed before you replaced the plug, so when in use they melted forming balls. :wtf:
i only posted recently because i couldn't stand buxiboi's stupid posts anymore, and i saw your topic so quoted monty and posted it on here.
I would have thought that main bearings would be bigger? Plus how could they get out of the crank in one piece and into the spark plug? The crank would be well rattly running without them.
well monty took the head off to look at the piston.... and saw this why would the piston just start breaking like this? :wtf: and the barrel has markings on it but is smooth as anything still :wtf:
