for a few weeks now my moped (derbi predator) has been going really slowly uphill and on flat after an uphill. it feels like the engine is being lazy as it doesnt rev hard. on a downhill i could feel the engine start to work and rev high, then i would get to about 60-65, but as soon as i got to a hill, the same thing would happen. Also if i stopped and then pulled the throttle right back the engine would die if i didnt release it. another problem is when im going down a hill full throttle and then release the throttle, the engine cuts out completely untill i rev it again. weird. i was out on friday night and the bike started spluttering downhill ad then on the uphill it completely died and wouldnt start. i have cleaned the carb, main jets, fuel lines and the sparkplug and now it starts, but does about 15mph top speed, when i took the fuel lines out of the carb, barely any fuel came out (3 drips i think). i also drained the petrol tank and took the fuel filter out. the fuel filter has two outlet type things, one which you can blow or suck through, the other you cant do either - is this a problem?

so gentlemen, how do i fix my piece of shit ped?!

    thanks in advance

lighten your rollers abit, try dropping a main jet size and have a play with your idle mixture,

or you could just check your rollers for wear, if they arent then the problem is most likely to be a worn piston and rings.

oh shit. any idea how much cash/work etc is needed for replacing them? im sure the weird noise is coming from the clutch though. a mate of mine has the same bike and has offered to let me put his clutch, variator and belt on my bike to see if it makes a difference. worth doing?
    thanks again
