Hi everyone, my aerox came with a standard variator and this aftermarket one that the guy thinks is a TopRacing. At the moment i'm using the standard one becasue i dont have rollers for this other one, but the standard one is shite and wont run well with my pipe, carb, reeds and porting etc.. The PedParts dyno printout shows that the standard variators pick up slow when the bikes warmed up etc, and thats exactly the problem im having. Also i just want to put this other variator on. I need to get some rollers for this one, the 15x12 aerox ones are way too small and i tried a 16x13 one which was also too small by about a mm which kinda implies it needs 14mm wide rollers instead of the standard aerox 12's. I cant seem to find any rollers that are 14mm wide though? and how would i determine how thick they need to be? ie. the first numbe.r (??x14) Here's some pictures, hopefully someone can helpdetermine whether its actually a TopRacing or not. If it is then it will probably be easier to find rollers. Thanks
I would say doppler or top racing but best way to find out if search on internet and find out them too brands on what size rollers they hold and should be able to find out that way
I've just been on the phone to PM and they reckon its a topracing, and it needs 16x13 rollers. The 16x13's i tried were just under 1mm too narrow but they say that theyre supposed to be a bit loose for when the variator warms up, sound about right?
Put 16x13 in and run it till warm and see how it goes if you think that size is near(ish). If ur unsure on the make then your probably unsure on the quality so I'd recommend getting a well know polini or Malossi one which are by far the best on the market but cost about 50 squids! that's what my process would be anyway...
OK mate i'll try the 16x13's. Unfortunately m skint so a new one isnt an option atm, especially as my MOT is coming up and my ped has 11 previous 16 year old owners...
sounds like its been the vilage bicycle LOL eveyones had a ride metal expands when warm so in theoreoy the gap will become bigger? but if their a dam close fit then thats what youl have to use unless you can borrow some calipers to measure it
I have calipers, but the battery is gone and tehre arent any printed measurements on it D: Thanks JimRox, im worried that it wont pass but tbh it really just needs a set of levers and maybe a brake disc
