They will only really chase it up once youve ignored a few letters and they will eventually send a baliff round to your house to browse your goods and see if they can sell them for the value of your fine......

no way to 'persuade' a judge really, just gotta hope hes having a good day and hope for the best outcome. lol

is it a big fine or a small one if u mind me asking?

i owe over 5k in court fines and when i told them i was skint and had literally NO income they still fined me , and for things that simply were not my fault, iv had 3 baliffs turn up here and iv had to quickly hide or diguise my Rox everytime :( its not good, but if its a small fine, they probably wont bother.... they wont do anything if you dont have valueables on show, eg laptop xbox or something, mine gets hidden.

This is me i owe that much and they will never see it. but you gotta think how many other people across england are in debt for more than we are, and the likelyhood of a baliff bothering you for eg;£60/100 , isnt really gonna happen, if anything, they will just write it off if you tell them you lost your job.... wouldnt get your hopes up but if the judge is understanding and doesnt see you as a repeat offender or a complete criminal, the debt might get written off like you say.

if you havnt got the money you can ring up the court i think, and they put you through to someone who deals with fines etc., and you can pay them off monthly/weekly i think if thats any help.,, i got them down to me paying £5 a month on a £150 fine the last time,,..

if thyve summoned u to court best thing would be to go, and when you tell then you have no money,/lost your job recently, they should write it off... if they dont theyll send you through to the debt advisor person i mentioned once your hearing has ended, and you can discuss how its dealt with with them, eg try to pay £5 a month, tell them thats how little money you have etc and they should accept it,

If you phone up and offer to pay what you can afford, for example £1 a week they have to take the offer otherwise its considered refusing your payment and they wont stand a chance in court, even if it is the courts you owe the money to in the first place.

I got pulled for a small plate on my CBR, managed to convince them to give me a £30 fine rather than £60 then lost my wallet in town and forgot about the ticket and got a letter for £60, which i never got as my nephew hew was just starting to walk pushed it behind the counter whilst trying to pick up the phone so i got a letter for £1000, phoned them up and said i cant afford it, can i just skip court, admit i owe them, i'm not arguing it and just do community service to pay it off without court and she put me on hold for 30 seconds came back and said she had got it dropped to £30 again, didn't even ask why i hadn't paid it, so its always worth just a call, it's called a courtesy call or make a small payment called a courtesy payment, it basically shows you have intentions to sort everything and that your not just outright ignoring them with no intentions to pay.

And i've done a bit of bailiff work and trust me, bailiffs are paid a percent of what you owe .... there not gonna go after you for £90 so they can make £18 for what will be atleast 2 days work, they go after debts in the thousands so they can take a couple hundred a day home.
