thought that I should introduce myself. wont be on here a lot but I come on occasionally when I get stuck with a issue and search the forum, it has helped me a lot so thought I would sign up and say hello. Most know my elder brother - Scootzmadness who I hear is the "arsehole of the forum". I currently own a 2013 lexmoto gladiator 125cc which is purely for commuting but I am doing my work placement at a bike shop and learning lots about bikes. not been riding long but have had a aprillia rs50, my brothers italjet torpedo which I still part own (long story on that one) and I had a aprillia sr50 with a 70cc kit, I now have the lexmoto and I am looking for a new scooter project to keep me busy.
Hi and welcome! if you own a Lexmoto, you might be here more often than you think, it depends on how old it is.
thankyou for the welcome guys. Actually lexmoto aren't too bad, yes they are Chinese and they are a little on the crap side but if they are serviced properly, belt changed every other service along with rollers and fork stanchions kept clean theyre not too bad to get around on, I have to travel down a dual carriageway every day and it is a December 2013 lexmoto gladiator so it isn't that old, we got it from a dealership with 600 miles on it for £500 last month. even if I do have any issues with it, I do my work placement in a bike shop so I get trade price on parts and have full access to a fully equipped workshop 7 days a week aswell as use of my brothers lovely new bike
There's a guy where I work that has a Lexmoto Pioneer, the low-slung chopper style 125. He seems to spend more money on Loctite than he does on petrol, it's already rusting quite noticeably and it's a '13 plate machine. I'd imagine that they are quite high maintenance (and that's coming from a Peugeot owner!).
they can be high maintenance but as long as you start off with a good clean example and look after it, they are ok. I mean look at my brothers pulse scout, I believe that's still somehow going around and last time I heard it had 60,000 miles on the clock. my lexmoto now has 13,500 miles on the clock. I change the oil every 3,000 miles, spark plug every 1,500, clean the air filter element every 1,500, clean the carbereteur every 6,000, wipe the fork stanchions down and spray them with GT85 once every week, change my transmission fluid every 6,000 and touch wood it has been fine so far. We put our scooters and bikes through a lot in our house, we do ALOT of miles on them. the thing is with Chinese bikes, if you don't look after them from the start then you will always have issues with them. the first thing me and my brother did was clean all the electrical connectors and wrap the wiring loom in electrical insulation tape, put a NGK spark plug in, gave it a good service and loctited ALL the nuts and bolts. if I have issues with it, I have access to a fully equipped workshop, trade prices on parts and if that fails me, I am insured to ride my brothers bike (if he ever lets me touch it its his baby) I wont be keeping it too long though, I will put another 10,000 on the clock and chop her in for (hopefully) a Honda varadero 125cc. I have been looking at a few scooters online for projects, so hopefully soon I shall have one.
your scoot is a pile of crap, stop trying to defend it. you cant even stop the belly pan panels falling off you stupid little boy.
its the law of this forum that you must buy me bacon, it was in the small print when you clicked "i accept"... wheres my bacon?
He is just a arsehole. That's just the way he is. Either love him or hate him. Takes a certain type of person to like him. He has been through quite a lot in the past few years which has changed him quite alot.
Hey, Scootz is a nice guy. It seemed appropriate to razz his brother. Would you have done less, Na. You will not see a negative post from me, if you do, call me on it.
