hello iv had so many bikes over the years now i have a piaggio zip 50 2t air cooled it was in a state when i got it iv had to buy loads of bits for it i got it running but it was missing the air filter its got a leovince TT pipe on it so i bought a TNT air filter but its not working properly it sounds likke there is too much air going in. if i put it on the center stand and open the throttle the revs build up high then it sounds like its going to conk out and it looses power. . . do i need to up jet the carb? be greatfull for your advice. james.
you need to upjet by a fair amount with an open filter and a sports pipe, their are many threads on here about how to go about it but you wont find a definite jet size, its a case of try and see
do you know if 72 is stock or not, your best bet is too do some research, find out which mdel carb you have, then goole your bike for the standard jet size, if 72 is stock you need to go up a fair chunk with an open filter and sports pipe, if it was smaller as stock and has been upped to 72, find out by what % it was upped and then we can see if this accommodated the open filter or just the sports pipe.
the jet has never been changed someone has just put the pipe on there. so with an open filter an sports pipe how much will i have to go up from 72?
