Hello Everyone, My name is Kate and I joined this forum because I am trying to get my first scooter and I am interesting in learning a bit about picking, buying and maintaining it. First off, I have never owned or even ridden a scooter but I have always been interested in owning one. I wasn't sure who to ask for advice so I decided to make a account on this forum in the hopes that I could have some advice from some of your members. I am sure you get this a lot and I apologise, if i am better off posting somewhere else I will remove this post. I have been looking on Bike Trader but I really confused as to the sorts of things I should be looking for. My priorities are: Safety. Under 1000 pounds/second hand. I would like to be able to drive it on Highways etc. Be able to drive it on rural roads. Newbie friendly. Any advice would be appreciated, I am not even sure what brands I should be looking into. Welcome to the shack Kate! My advice is to steer well clear of the cheap scoots from china, piaggio, Aprilia and yamaha are tried and tested.
