Hello from Blackburn'ish!

    Name is Adrian. not a young lad by any means. Picked up a Sym scooter from a place in Burscough a few weeks ago. The idea was to give myself a project to get me back into tinkering.

    So picked up a 2004 Sym Megalo with seized engine, one replacement engine later and quite a bit of fibreglass to patch some panels, odds and sods and I hope to be in a position to MOT the thing.

    I will be going for the CBT soon to get out and ride the little thing.

    Hope to pick peoples brains when needed and generally have fun on it when ready. See you around!

    Just wondering what people would expect for insurance costs, 3rd Party I am getting best quote at moment at around £76.00, that excludes any legal costs which would bang it up to over £100

    Value of bike quite low, I have estimated £350 for it.

    If I add fire and theft then the cost goes to £96 but the excesses I have to pay become £350 so no point in having the F&T.

    Young girls do not appeal at all, have daughter of 20 and the thought of having another female around with the same attitude would not be my idea of fun.

    With what I have in my head now,would'nt be as much fun in a younger body.;).,
    running £23.78 third party/fire &theft p.m. at the moment(100cc) mid-forties/full licence,central london.no ncb's,off bikes +10 years/accident blackspot.

    So my price is not that bad then for 125cc first time rider. I'm first registered in 59. Feel 80 now after driving kit car for 5 hours.

    as long as you get a leg over and your hand grips,ide give a few young uns a thrashing on a good bike..age im at now,i think if i come off ide still think about the bike more than me..i heal free.spares cost.im reg,d 59..54yrs old.bout 52 yrs playing with engines.these ped lumps..rather strip a bsa or a bonnie lump than fathom these things.
