Since I've been a member on here for about a week now, I think it's a bit rude of me not to introduce myself. My name's Mark, I'm from Hoyland, in Barnsley. I own a Peugeot Speedfight 100 that was given to me by my g.f's sister. (She'll be getting a fine from DVLA for not declaring SWORN - LOL) When I got the scooter, it had been nicked twice, thrashed round fields, and had various problems with it. Check out my post in the Scooter Project section to see my progress on rebuilding it. My hobbies are more towards the computers/electronics side of stuff. I repair PCs and games consoles, and also do a little bit of programming - I ain't no geeky type tho. :nerd: The last few weeks I've been spending more time with my brother in his garage helping him rebuild his NSR 125 and XR 350. He's been bringing me up to speed on terminology and stuff to do with bikes. To be honest, I'm finding it pretty interesting. I used to own a Piaggio NRG 50 about 5 years ago. I got it on finance (£1500 - OUCH) and after 6 months it was nicked from outside my house. The 3 guys that nicked it, waited while I went out round town friday night, then sawed through the deadbolt in the driveway and carried it over the fence into the flats behind the house. The morning after, I found all the plastics sticking out of the guys wheely bin outside his flat... :msn1: I'm not a violent person, but I waited for him coming out of his flat and promptly beat him with a piece of wood. :bird: Anyways, the coppers pulled 3 guys riding what was left of my bike up through Worsborough in to Barnsley centre, and nicked 2 of em. They got tagged coz they were druggies, and I ended up paying the rest of the finance off. Insurance asked for £700 to replace the bike, which wasn't happening. Enough rambling and sorry for the essay... :rofl: Anyone else live near me?

True... true... We've now got a concrete garage with ground anchors inside. My bro owns 4 bikes, XR 350, CBR 1000, NSR 125 & his Fireblade 1000. I fitted the alarm in the joint. Our area is well known for bikes being nicked daily. Rough as f*ck. I chained my pushbike to the back of the house a few years ago and they nicked that with bolt croppers. LOL! Tell you what happened the other week, some kid was riding his mini moto up and down the street, loadsa chavs stood about watching him. The ASBO van turned up with the mobile crushing unit and took it off him. Y'know what happened? They chucked it straight in the crusher and minced it!!! The kid must have been about 16-17 ish, just burst into tears as his bike has turned into tinfoil!! Never laffed as hard in my life :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:
