HI am new to all this and am looking into getting 50cc moped , I know that I will need to get a licence from the DVLA and do my CBT to start with, but please could someone tell me how much I could be paying for insurance at the age of 34 with a marital status common law and locking with a good security chain/lock/anchor point.

    With thanks

Most of that mate you'll have to find out from your brokers,
some of the issues you'll face will be your postal area,'approved'
security products (most brokers have a list of industry approved equipment.,
whether you're bike is immobilizer fitted.).
Alot of the quote will be based upon previous riding experience,no-claims bonus's
some will be based on your job.
If this your 1st foray into 'peds your quote isn'nt gonna be completely on the cheap,
but the rewards are immense and with sensible secure an smart riding, you'll
start to build up your no claims and your quotes will come down. ,
    Hope it helps a little!,
Welcome to the forum. :) . mark.

The only suggestion I can give you to get a slightly better than
rough estimate,is to access an insurance website that gives advice
on premiums.,you will of course need all your details at hand.mark.

As I have stated that I need to get my licence and do my CBT first, so the problem is that cannot get a quote until my licence.

    Thanks

    this is how it works.
insurance is based upon area - your postcode- where you live. without this or what specific approved security products you would be using we CAN NOT give you a rough estimate. we can not also give you a rough estimate without knowing what specific moped you will be having. I was doing quotes before I had my licence, just said I did have one, you are under no obligation to buy its just a quote. some sites even have a little box you can tick saying licence not obtained yet. insurance is different for all areas, all mopeds and can depend upon the security devices. lets say mark for example is 46 and can get insured on a 1984 Honda vision tpft for £200 in London with a chain and padlock. I could get insured on a 2010 pulse scout fully comp for £300 at 18 years old. IT ALL DEPENDS ON AREA/MOPED/SECURITY. sorry but this is obviously the only way to get this through to you. I have pretty much just told you exactly what mark said.

hello scootz...i had a quote from local swintons and they gave me a rough ball park figure of 150...as you know i didnt have the ped so couldnt tell them much...just done an on line quote form with bennetts for my vision and they came up with 72.29 fully comp...did have to do a bit of bs on some of the questions cos they didnt have drop down box option for shed storage...so ticked locked garage...approved lock etc..lock will get bought..i dont think theres gonna be alot of difference in the quote when i phone them and tell them the truth...was only for enquiry...but what a difference in the two quotes...rain stopping play again...damm...

shed storage is locked garage aslong as its locked whenever the scoot is in there and you will actually be using the shed to keep the scoot in, well I think anyway, its what ive always told them and they've accepted it so yeah, £72.29 ? that's pennys !
