hi everyone I have owned tuned lambrettas since the early 80's but recently decided to buy a pulse lightspeed 2 (125cc) for nipping to the shops , going to work and generally running around on as the lammy cost a fortune to do up and tune and this was cheap as chips.
hi barry, welcome to the forum. we tend to hide from chink scooters on here but we do like lambrettas any pics ?
im opposite, i hate italian bikes, i dont really love chinese bikes but you know. (the new hondas are made in china actually). welcome to the forum. your lambretta does look amazing, hats off to you for that!
hi, I was building lambrettas from the age of 15 and went to rallies until about 1990 when family mortgage etc took priority and I sold / gave away everything I had in the garage . I finally took the plunge and bought another gp last year and set about restoring and tuning it up . Im now 47 and it feels great being back on the road although I still haven't grown out of the urge/quest for tuning/ringing more power out of the thing lol.
Ah - the old guys section eh? Pipe and slippers, greenhouses, old fond fleabag dogs, and wives called 'mother' and the radio babbling. I spend some time on another forum where the average age of the active posters is about 54, with years and years of experience - and I found it a bit of a culture change to come here and find so many young folks. I don't mean anything unkind by that - there's nothing wrong with young folks*, and it goes with the territory - the small scooter is of course very largely the territory of the young because of cost. It's good to have a mix of ages - when I was a young lad I would have given my eye teeth to have a resource like this where I could have benefitted from the experience of others. I could have rebuilt that K4 instead of scrapping it, (I could have understood the dangers before nearly killing myself when I wrecked the K4).
Same, Would have loved something like this when younger- Could have been just as nuts, but maybe with a bit more class. .
