i put a new Hebo variator and Clutch on to my 70cc piaggio typhoon. i went to take it out on a test ride and the bike wont go over 40mph? can someone tell me what could be causing this? i put 4.1 g rollers in that came with variator.
struggling to get in decent revs, put back old contra spring and still no good. im abit confused now really. tried every possiablity.
have you got a gear up on it.if it revs nice with the light weights and slowed on the heavyweight, try a mix of each.leave every thing standard and change one thing at a time.im assuming you got a good pipe and carb?.
i tried 4.1, 4.5, and 4.9g rollers but ill try the lightest ones when i get home. and yes hairyjim i got a yasuni R pipe and running standard 17.5ml carb with upjet of 124. Thanks
nice pipe yasuni r.best there is to get a 70 spinning for the money.carb should be able to supply the juice .you say you cant get past 40..did it on the old variator?did you get a good pull away.just wondering if your expecting it to do some thing its not living up too, speed wise.it should be revving its bollox off and lifting.
okok think i found the problem. put old variator on with new clutch, it works, but with new variator it dosent go past 40. so i beleive the variator is the wrong one for my bike. it also didnt help that i had a massive slit in my manifold. cheers anyways guys.
no worries then.if the split and clutch is pukka, try hebo again mlght be able to spin it up better now the drive line,s been sorted it to.
