Headlight bulb securing clips

Hope this is the right section to post in for this matter..

I have a question, the thin metal wire clips that secure the headlight bulbs in place are missing the small metal plates that they locked into, as in the second photo, as they have snapped off, can't believe how weak the plastic is where they screw into, do I need to get whole new replacement headlight units or is there a way that I can safely secure them in place just to stop the bulbs from rattling around in there?
