HEAD STUD RUNNER 172

    just rebuilt a new engine today with new crank and one of the head studs that bolts down the head is fucked on the thread, wats the right way of getting this out? i dont wanna snap it then im fucked proper. any help would be cool !

    couldnt you clamp it in a vice, and slowly drill them out and then re-thread them ?

    Some studs screw into the engine and some dont.
    If it is the screw in type I would try a pair of mole grips on it.
    If it is the non-screw in I would be pretty fucked right about now LOL

    i swear they all screw in the casing? i snapped one on a old bike i had , just went to a piggy dealer and bought a new one for £2

    ive got a replacement ready to go in but i need to get the stud out the casing

    They just unscrew out.
    get some molgrips on there. use stud lock stuff when putting the new one in though

    file down 2 flats on either side of the stud, then put and adjustable spanner on the flats and turn it out, more reliable than mole grips :punk:

    or just tighten the chuck of a drill onto it and reverse it out
