HAVING TROUBLE SPLITING TYPH ENGINE TO FIT A RACE CRANK

    hey ppl the engine wont split to put a race crank in .ive un done all the bolts fly wheel etc.... nd i didnt no weather i should hit the engine with a hammer to losen it , any one got any good ideas .

    use a rubber hammer and hit quite hard on the ed of the crank or the engine mounting points, it helps if you heat the cases around where the bearings sit.

    if you have to ask this i recon you should read up a little first pal. dont wanna kill a crank in 2 mins do you ;)

    well, read up a little on heating processes for removal and invest in some proper tools for the job (decent heatgun and plastic/hide hammer) and use nuts wound flat anyway.

    get a manual and then ask what you dont understand after reading.

    personally i would take the bottom end to someone who knows how and watch them do it, it may cost a fwe quid but it's the best way to learn how to get the mains in square and make the crank run free.
