has any one owned one of these?

Has anyone on here had a MZ ETZ 125 before? Its a 2 stroke motorbike from east Germany with a cube for an engine.


Ive seen one and i am so tempted to buy it, but just wanted to see if anyone has any pointers. Thanks

 

i know there are a couple of people on here with them, cant remember who tho. you cant really go wrong with german bikes

 

Well I've had a nose about and surprisingly there are more spares for them than I thought. Let's hope the price is right

 

ball breaker for a tank though. but surprisingly tough bikes

Went and saw it tonight, fully rebuilt engine with receipts, fully resprayed and more spare parts than halfords. Had to have it that's another two stroke to the collection

 

Sometimes you just have to have the runt of the litter don't you

my step father had a 250 ts trophy version years back...never broke down,pulled like a train and ging ging ginged on its centre stand and would move down the road on its own..kick start(gear lever) would ram his knee in to the handle bars when it kicked back..good old days....

 

Once it's home I'll get some pics up, but it's not staying black for long

 

It will have a cold war theme to it

 

Brilliant buy, never owned one, but an icon to an old London courier. They got thrashed to death but with the engine rebuild it should last forever.

 

Thanks Just need to swap the brake caliper over on the front as the one fitted the seals have gone. But the bloke gave me a good spare so that will be swapped out in the morning.

 

I have a TS125, the one before the ETZ but recently blew it up, after over a years worth of being thrashed everyday it finally popped, and it's 28 years old...
Can't go wrong with an MZ

 

Well sorted out the odd niggle today, got the front caliper swapped over but forgot to pick up some brake fluid.
