    Great looking bike.

It is a very nice looking machine. I know why I have not seen one now. Not legal in California due to the 2 stroke engine.

I would love to see a 4 stroke 150cc in a frame like this with CA CARB certs.

Hell, I think I want to build something like this, with another engine, in my dreams.

    2nd double,
why not suggest it to them?,not large scale i'd assume = indoubtably more accomidating, would'nt think you're too far from the source (same landmass.:) ).

Dunno if this is true, but apparently it's a euro spec Derbi engine? from spain and its running a 6 speed gearbox?
Which got me thinking, who makes a 4 stroke vertical small bore engine and what bikes are they in? I reckon you could get a 4 stroke to fit that, or at least very little mods to fit.

I haven't built a frame from scratch since I was 22. An then with help from my dad, and his jigs.

I would love to try to make a reproduction with this kind of feel... Then I remember I live in CA.

If you build with approved parts, you have a chance. If I started with a registered frame and engine and only did "modifications" It could fly, but I would not bet the rent on it.

This place is clean air and safety oriented for a reason, We die like flies on motorcycles here, and you can chew the air in some parts of Los Angeles (120 miles away). That makes customs interesting to register with the DMV.

I have started thinking.... that is dangerous.

Sounds fun, but too much $$ for what I have planned now.
I am in bail out mode, and will wait until things settle before I do anything but react.
I have a condo for sale, and have to live in temporary digs for a month or so while that happens.
No new projects except for finalizing the land deal in Oregon, but that will be fun enough to keep me entertained for the next year or two. It has been a long time (1975) since I have cut a road into property to build a cabin.

Looking forward to making that happen now. It is really my only focus, except getting rid of all this junk I collected!

that would be easy to copy.can use a good jap frame and weld on the frame mods before you cut the original rails out.that tank is whats making it look so ancient..sprung seat, nice.nsu quickly guards would look age appropriate.i think ide have to be careful rubbing my right knee too much on the tank.

It is not a hard thing to do once you realize the 125cc lg wheel Chinese frame would do fine, and they are almost free with a bad engine. It looks like such an attractive project.... later maybe.

I have dumped some collections I hate to loose, but do not need.
I did this kind of work for fun, and have just sold off several pre WWI USN Ship's bells like this project

    And this one

Moving on is difficult, but I put them all in the hands of US Navy veterans.
If they were British you would feel the same.

Now I move on to simpler things like the freaking GY6 150cc that will not stay in tune.

I would have been good with adjusting the valves with the head of a nail as a feeler gauge. The freaking thing tightens up when it get warm and it is much happier with a sloppy gap.

I will be much happier once the damn thing starts to wear in. If it lasts that long......
