Hi all I'm hoping someone can help me I've recently had the gy6 50cc engine removed from a brand new scooter here in England the loom has stayed . I've had it replaced with a paiggio typhoon 172 conversion and loom .now the garage that carried the installation out cannot get the Rev counter to work . The speedo is a lcd display along with fuel gauge and Rev counter all on same round dial . They have extended the wire they think that comes from the Rev counter from original loom and wrapped it around ht lead but won't pick up a signal ?

I don't really want to fit a separate Rev counter koso type if I have to any ideas please

It won't pick up a signal from there. Pick up off the coil, if you have a separate coil that is. If not you may be able to pick up a signal from the stator wires.

If its a 125 loom there won't be anywhere to get an rpm from. None of them do

Which rev counter are you using? There's probably a way to get nrg clocks working but you'd need to buy a lot more parts than just adding a koso one. It's a lot of hassle either way though for something you won't need a lot

I think some of them are 4 stroke only but should be like any other aftermarket one apart from that (wire around ht lead)
