My favourite car these, not too keen on the mk4 but this is a good example atleast it aint got them bloody ugly 4 spokes
Yea that looks good mate, a nice colour to tune that some coilovers, exhaust system and blue/purple stripes going along....etc etc... could do that up nicely yea How much ? £800?
alright little nippy cars these, my friend bought one a while back and it pulled nicley for what they are! untill he wrecked it by putting a 3-2-1 manifold on followed by a shit bit of pipe to a nissan fairlady back box, i never went in the car again :msn1:
yeah fuck exhaust makes you look a cunt !!!!!!!!!! get one made where you cant see it dont have a silly tip hanging out the back. and isnt toooo loud.
Tax is a smidge over £100 a year on that beasty (it's pre 2001 so the co2 emmissions are not taken into account) keep it standard, look after it. if you are looking to keep it go the coilover route but don't lower it more than 30mm, looks shit otherwise. leave the motor alone, they go well for what they are. if you MUST put an exhaust system on it stick to the well known companies like magnex and get a complete system, not just a megaphone on the back make sure the tyres are good, toyo T1Rs are my tyre of choice on the 205. better than the p6000s in the wet. get a spare parcel shelf before 6x9ing the damn thing, nothing more annoying than a cut parcel shelf rattling about. looks like a good motor, fords are solid and parts are cheap. keep up with servicing and don't thrash it from cold. Have fun is the main thing.
i need to hurry up and passed my test im tempted to drive it lol but its got an annoying tapping noise and leaking brake fluid from master cylinder anyone know about cars loool
ive done valves on a 8v car before in college but with 16 theres two cams (i think thats what there called) and ive been told that makes it harder ?????? fluid is leaking from the master cylinder from where it connected to the rest of the system but i cant seem to be able to pull it off i think the seals just moved/came out of place. any ideas
if its on buckets and shims it'll be a nightmare to do. i would immagine it will be. 16v are only harder because there's more of them and twin cam are harder because there's 2 cams to time. worth changing the oil if its not been done as old oil causes noisy engines
these are noisey bastards anyway, infact one i heard one about 3 years ago i mistoke it for a diesel..., just give it a mini service, plug, filter and oil, warm the engine for about 5 mins and the oil will come out easier. just do the obvious thing like your master cylinder, rebuild the whole thing to be on the safe side if its cheap enough, revvy cars push over 70 bhp stock i think, insurance are not hurrendous on them too im all for a 100bhp 1.3 1995 pug 106, rallye, if i can find one cheap enough in tidy nick though insurance is a piss take on them. if i cant find one im going for a 1.4 corsa GLS, 88bhp and cheap as fuck to insure! keep it tidy man and pass your good luck with your test
106s are ok but the rear track is narrower than the front and it makes them feel a bit wierd through corners and i'm convinced that corsa steering is hamster controlled, the rack moves a bowl of food across then the hamster pulles the track rods as it goes for the food, it's that delayed.
infact the oil is really low. so tomorrow im taking a trip to halfords to get some along with brake fluid and new seal. if it doesnt sort out the noise ill have to attempt the valve my self with some assistants from the internet i havent got the money to pay someone hundreds of pounds to fit a £9 part :msn1: lol
Lol you planon taking the head off and doing the valve yourself with some assistance form the inet.  Get yourself a haynes manual, you'll need it anyway for timing the cams, unless you have access to autodata program or something. Im not trying to be a prick or anything im just saying you could do more damage using the inet instead of haynes manual.
clearances can be done with the head in place. may have to remove cams (can't remember on that motor). would be worth dropping a cam belt on it at the same time. don't use halfords oil. get something half decent. oil filter plugs cam belt air filter and sort your brake leak. fair service really.
